Day 1  Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town, a picturesque city on South Africa’s Atlantic coast. Transfer to your hotel and settle in before making your way to the bustling V&A Waterfront, a prime location for shopping, dining and sipping South African wines.

Days 2-3  Cape Town
Enjoy the convenience of a hop-on hop-off bus ticket, whisking you between the many highlights of this fantastic city. Take the cable car up to the top of the iconic Table Mountain, discover the magnificent oasis of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and relax on the scenic Camps Bay Beach. The ticket also includes a harbour or canal cruise at the V&A Waterfront.

Day 4  Cape Town
Spend another day at leisure exploring Cape Town. Perhaps venture to Robben Island to hear the fascinating stories of Nelson Mandela and other inmates who spent time at this prison during the apartheid era. Alternatively, head to Cape Point, the dramatic southwestern tip of Africa, followed by a visit to the famous penguins of Boulders Beach.

Day 5  Cape Town to Franschhoek
Pick up your car and drive through a landscape of rolling vineyards to the charming town of Franschhoek in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

Day 6  Franschhoek
Savour the fabulous variety of South Africa’s wines whilst soaking up the stunning scenery from the comfort of the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Offering several routes covering different vineyards, this is the ultimate way to experience South Africa’s wine scene.

Day 7  Franschhoek to Aquila Private Game Reserve
Leave Franschhoek and drive on to 4 Aquila Private Game Reserve, a wildlife haven surrounded by the stunning Southern Karoo scenery. At the lodge unwind poolside or book a massage at the lovely spa.

Day 8  Aquila Private Game Reserve
Head out on 4WD game drives through the 25,000 acres of the private game reserve where animals are free to roam. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of the Big 5, alongside giraffes, hippos and zebras; this is the perfect place for ticking off wildlife sightings for a first safari.

Day 9  Aquila Private Game Reserve
Drive back to Cape Town, where you will drop off your car and catch your flight home.
